Twilight Gift Bags

I made these for a Twilight DVD party we had on the night the DVD came out. Each person had a picture of Edward, sweethearts candy, an apple, wax lips and a pin...

We did themed food too. We called the red punch ''blood'' and garlic dip was Vampire's Demise! LOL!! And I decorated cupcakes to look like mini vampires!!

Thought I would post these up since I had so many hits on my New Moon invites. Perhaps I will be motivated to do something for the New Moon movie event I am going to.

I forgot to mention the cricut carts used: Plantin Schoolbox for font, Indie Art for lips & heart.

Looky what my Aunt gave me!!

So my Aunt works at a school and offered to get me some 'supplies'!! This is what she picked up for me. The paint is washable (gonna use that for the kids as well as the elmer's glue) she also got me 2 packs of crayons. Two pairs of Provo Craft ((yay cricut maker)) scissors ~ the kind that do decorative cutting. Last is a stack of paper. Heavy duty stuff... it isn't acid free but for cards ~ WHO Cares!! LOL!!! I made her a thank you with my cricut and the supplies she sent me.

Thank you card using some cardstock , some from the stash, green stickles, swiss dots cuttlebug folder, white versamark ink, and Walk in my Garden cricut cartridge.

Stampin Up stamp used for sentiment.

quick card

I used Friendly Forest paper pack for the butterfly paper. The butterflys were cut from WIMG. Stickles used to accent the butterflies.

My tip is if you are making 1 card you might as well make 4! Or at least more than one. This way I didn't waste half the paper because I used it on all the cards.

Finally found it!

I've been yardsaling all summer looking for a cassette tape box to hold my stamp pads. I saw on the cricut message boards that was what people were using and I instantly knew I wanted one too! I've heard they hold the stampin up pads quite well. I don't actually have the stampin up ink pads as of yet but I plan on starting soon.
I spent $2 on this wood box. The only problem is that the slots don't go all the way to the back. Hope it doesn't matter with the stampin up pads but it means it wasn't a cassette holder originally. No worries I will make it work!! :D I am just so excited to have finally found something and for it to be in such good condition!

HSN & Gypsy

If you are in the market for a gypsy ~ HSN has a great price (( with flex pay!!)) and it has a great package. Don Juan cart, case, car charger!! Be sure to check it out!!

**For those of you that don't know **
The Gypsy is a gadget that works with your cricut. You load your carts into it and then you can create additional cuts/designs. It comes with two exclusive carts... Gypsy font and Gypsy Wanderings. I honestly have been calling it the 'DS' for Moms!! LOL!!

Cheap Epson Printer at Target

Ok so it doesn't print the best... but in my new printer's defense I only had old photo paper from my HP printer. If anyone uses this printer please leave me a comment with any tips or what kind of paper you use...
Now the good part. I needed a cheap printer that used cheap ink and this printer fit that bill 100%!! It was $29.99 at Target but RIGHT NOW it is on clearance there for $20.98!!! How cheap is that.
I have a small home business ~ I home demonstrate Jewelry~ and I need to do printables all the time. Plus I like to print stuff for scrapbook pages & cards.
So it is not a GREAT printer but it is good for the cheapo price!!

$1 section at Target!

Made the rounds at target. They have the best $1 section for scrapbooking supplies!

The calendar stuff I bought to do a craft with my 9 & 7 yr old boys. I am going to cut some stuff with my cricut and do each page up with them.

(In the top pic there is a pack of glitter paper that wasn't from the $1 section but from the clearance section ~ I think I paid $2.98 and it cuts awesome on the cricut)

My first border punch!

I finally got one!! LOL!! Yesterday my Aunt said let's go to Michaels and I will buy you something to cheer you up! LOL! So it was this border punch an dsome googly eyes. I wanted a Christmas paper stack but Micheals has NONE!!!

So now that I have one of course I want MORE MORE MORE!! I've seen some of you ladies have over 100!!!! LOL!!

How to Re-Sticky Your Cricut Mats!

I think most of my followers know you can re-sticky your cricut cutting mats... but in case you didn't I wanted to let you all know.

There are two ways to do it.  You can buy spray adhesive.  I bought mine at Lowes.  (I've tried acid free stuff from the craft store and the results were not nearly as good.)  Or you can use a zig glue pen. If you go to The Pink Stamper's website she has a video on the zig method.

You have to clean your mat clean my mat really good...wait for it to dry... scrubbing the paper particles off... then mask, then spray. I also marked on the back which ones I did this too because you can usually just clean the mats with water a few times before you have to resticky them... for some reason they 'come back' sticky with just a wash!

I used painter's  tape to mask off the edges this way you can avoid sticky-ing the edges... and your cricut won't get goopy on the rollers this way.

I also suggest looking for those sales where all cricut products are on sale at your craft stores and stocking up on extra mats. Even with the resticky methods you will still want fresh mats for some projects and eventually they will be cut through.  If it is an important project a fresh very sticky mat is always best.  This method of re-stickying works great but if I had only one sheet of really good paper I might not want to risk ruining it and I would go ahead and buy a new mat.

Everyday Paper Dolls ~ Nurse & Doctor

Here are two dolls I made for a swap. The person requested a Nurse and Doctor, girls with brown hair... Well the doctor in the book is a boy... so I improvised! Hope you like em! I did the cuts in the book for the faces since they were for someone else... usually I just freehand my eyes, noses or mouths... or you can try Peachy Keen face stamps. ;)

Home-made glue dots!

Yes!!! You can make home-made glue dots!! It is really easy but you need Aleene's tack it over

Pictured:

Then you dot it out according to the sizes you want:

Then wait for it to dry overnight:

My only tip is don't use the type of paper I show! I can't get them off of it ( it was a sheet that some stamps came on. I suggest using the Xyron backing. You know the white paper part you typically throw away? Well keep it and use it!! :D

cuts from Winter Wonderland

Here are some cuts I made using the Winter Wonderland cartridge. These are for a swap... I personally don't like this cartridge that much... :sigh: I like some of the cuts more than others.... but some don't cut out as nice even if you use really nice thick cardstock. I thought you all might like to see what some of the cuts look like so here they are!! :D

Quick Easter Egg dying layout - and review of Zip dry glue

How many layouts do I have to do for Easter eggs? LOL! I am totally burned out with those and with Christmas! I just have no new ideas!!! Maybe for next years!! haha!!
I used Stretch Your Imagination for the bunnys and basket. I tried out the new zip dry glue and it was AWESOME!!! I loved it for tacking down the cardstock to my patterned paper. It dried super fast but still allowed me time to manipulate the paper into the correct spot! It is now my must have for that. I like it for paper piecing as well.

Michael's stop having such good sales!!

I used 5 coupons!! Two 40% off, two 50% off and a 20% off your entire purchase!! On top of that I had giftcards!! My total was $28 with all the discounts but I didn't actually pay anything because I had those gift cards!! Gotta love birthdays!!

The paper is mostly holiday and thicker glittery speciality paper.

Everyday Paper Doll ~ 2 quick cards

If you don't have the PDDU or EDPD cartridges you don't know what you are MISSING!! There are so many additional things on the carts that you can use. I needed 2 really quick and simple cards ( especially the train one because it is for a 4 yr old and I don't do a lot of work on a card for that age they just don't appreciate it).

The train, tracks and little face with hair and hat are all from Everyday Paper Dolls!! It is for my little cousin Dylan's 4th birthday party which is Thomas the Tank themed!

The baby carriage is from EDPD and the stamp is a studio G stamp.

I haven't had a lot of time for scrapbooking/paper crafting because I started babysitting this past week. Hopefully once I get used to the crazy schedule I will be posting more like I used to!!

Scrapper's Dilemma

My main reason for scrapbooking is to record my kid's lives so that when they are older they will know things about their childhood. I do this because my Mom passed away from cancer when I was 17 and she had been sick since I was 8. She was a record keeper and didn't share memories with me. I am left to wonder things from my childhood.

That being said.... I took the kids to an amusement park on Friday and I didn't bring my CAMERA!! Oh the shame!!! It was difficult for me to do but most of the park was water related and honestly I was afraid that it would get ruined.

So now days later I am regretting not capturing the moments. I can envision the layouts in my head .... I worry that they will forget I even took them.... :sigh:

((Sorry no projects in this post.... but I had to vent I suppose!))

A quick Anniversary Card

Congrats Rob & Nicole on your 10 yr!!!

I made this card for them... superquick! The only cut is from SYI (the bride & groom) Hubby thinks I should have layered the cut and made them black & white colors... maybe next time.

Love the SYI cart because it has a little of everything! Babies, wedding, seasonal... if you are just starting out it is a great cart to pick up! ;)
