too late entry for Cricut contest!!

So I decided on Tuesday I was going to do a layout to enter into cropping with the stars at cricut.com. I worked on it and didn't like how the layout was going so stopped. Well, on Wednesday evening I was inspired and went to fix the things I didn't like... and here it is: I used DCWV Sweet Stack for the background paper. That gave me so much trouble because no other paper matches it!!
Cow is from From My Kitchen and Grass from Everyday Paper dolls.

Font is Jubilee and all other cuts are from From My Kitchen. Hope you enjoy it!! :D

Here are a few pages I made using paper piecing ~ gotta love those pre-cricut days!! Every color is individually cut out by hand, inked, chalked and sketched on!! LOL!!

I love comments!!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Just wanted to wish every one a happy, safe and wonderful Christmas!!
I hope that you take some time with your family to talk about what Christmas is really about. It is not about the presents, family or Santa. It is about our Lord being born. Merry Christmas Everyone and Happy Birthday Jesus!!

A Altered Composition Book for a Friend

I made this as a gift. Not sure if I will give it because well I am a little worried it is not that good....Here is the front cover:
Quote is from Creative Memories' vellum love quotes

I embossed some chipboard hearts in copper to match the brown in the paper. Some flowers with a brown pearl for the bottom as well as Making Memories stamps (got those at Micheal's awhile back super cheap!)

Back cover:

Well, if you take the time to look please leave feedback because I am a little nervous about this one!! LOL!
I also used creative memories square maker to make the corner photo holders, just cut them in ahlf. And a EK success border bunch for the paper on the book binding. Not sure when I got this paper but it was on Clearance at Target AGES ago!!

Christmas card for Hubby!

This was my first time using Wild Card. I made the Ornament card with Christmas tree envelope. I put a liner in the envelope this time but won't do that again because I used thick cardstock and it is having trouble staying shut. I wish I had red shiny paper for the ornament but well.... trying to use what I have.
The paper is from Target I think it is 'M' brand? Tinsel Town might be the name? and I used gold, red & green stickles.
Wild Card is a lot harder than I thought. If you haven't figured it out http://www.creationswithchristina.com/ has a great Wild Card series going on. I think everyone trying to use this cart should check it out because it is really helpful!!
Thanks for looking!

Christmas Gifts for my kids' friends!

I made these as a quick gift for my kids' school friends. I got the idea over at http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ ~ she did a slider thingy with apple cider in the Fall. Well, I did the popcorn ones for Thanksgiving and these are for Christmas ~ they are Hot Chocolate!! It is going to work out great because here in NJ we are supposed to get 4 -8 inches of SNOW!!! We haven't had a great snow in ages so Hot Chocolate will go great after the cold weather fun!!

I used Joys of the Season for the ornaments. I stamped the Merry Christmas with VersaMark ink and then embossed with Silver embossing powder.

The last one is a little bigger because it is Fun Dip for a little girl that has allergies in my youngest's class.
I hope you enjoyed!! I can't wait to see what everyone else does for gifts!!

Glitter ornaments

Looking for an easy holiday ornament project?  Glitter ornaments make beautiful gifts, last a long time and they are incredibly easy to make.

First off you will need:
  • Clear glass ornaments
  • fine glitter
  • Pledge floor cleaner (pictured below ~ I found it at Walmart)
  • ribbon First take the little hook thing off the ornament.  Then you squirt the pledge in the little opening.  Next swirl that liquid around trying to coat the entire inside.  Dump out any remaining liquid.    Add your glitter and swirl around making sure the glitter has a chance to adhere to the whole inside of the ornament. Dump out extra any remaining glitter then put back the ornament topper.
Ideas to dress it up:

  • Add a fancy ribbon
  • add a vinyl initial letter to the outside of the ornament
  • use coordinating colors and make a whole set

I had bought the glitter sampler in the Christmas section at Micheal's. It had 12 or so little packs of glitter in different colors. Those were a little bit short on the amount of glitter needed. I think next year I will buy one big thing of glitter to use. I also think I will limit it to two colors next year.... The silver glitter one came out so beautiful.... it is my favorite! My kids are 7 & 9 and they were able to do the project.  We all enjoyed the  making the ornaments and they came out stunning.  I was a little concerned because the floor cleaner is toxic and I made the kids wear old clothes and wash up afterwards. You could use rubber gloves to be safe.

well....

I still haven't been crafting. I am not so sick anymore but I am tired and nauseus. I guess it is leftovers from the flu?

Anyways... yesterday the mailman delivered a package to my hubby and the return address was from Peachy Keen Stamps!!! Yay!! I know I am getting one really good gift from there!!! Finally my paperdolls will have some nice faces. I've tried to draw them but let me tell you I am just not that good!!!

Still sick

I've been sick since last Monday. Still not 100% yet so today I am going to attempt to go to the doctors. I hope they are compassionate and get me in first thing this morning ~ I plan on going over there to make the appointment. (I know pushy but I've sick FOREVER).

I've got a ton of stuff that has to be done this week and I just can't be sick through it..... so I hope that I will be better fast.

Thanks for your kind thoughts & prayers!!
