Bananas 4 You! Sweethearts Layout

Dh bought me this cart for Valentine's Day and it is the first time I've used it. This is a bunch of pics I took of my kids when their cousin Emily was visiting. They really were acting like a bunch of Monkeys! I used DCWV cardstock & a patterned paper from American crafts (LOVE it ~ it is nice and thick and cuts wonderfully in the cricut!)
Primas with a rhinestone

Hanging with my Pops ~ layout

This is from 2007 during a trip we took with our church to Knoebles amusement park. This is actually the only good pic and it is a great pic because it is dh's dad and mine with our son. I used Storybook for the corner decoration along with Primas
Added some pearls to the print on the page for dimension

Here is something I wanted to add sorta as a 'help'. I don't always journal on the front on my pages. Sometimes a journal block would take away but I still want some details... so I flip over the layout and write something there... it also is good when you have something to say that is for your family's eyes and not everyone elses!

Hope you enjoy this layout!
Supplies:
Primas, DCWV Belle Cafe papers, Stampin Up Craft paper, Martha Stewart PATP

Easter card using my Scraps & Easter 2010

Easter Layout using Easter 2010 Cricut Cartridge #EASTER

I made this layout using the Cricut Seasonal Cartridge: Easter.  It is a nice set of images perfect for scrapbooking your Easter layouts.

Hmmm my pics might not be the best. This layout took me almost 3 hours! :sigh: It isn't quite what I had in mind but it is different than what I usually do. Papers are from SEI. Ok so here is a tiny confession..... I eyeball everything. I usually don't bother measuring because I'm just not that kind of scrapbooker. However for this layout I did. I measured all the mats and cut them all by myself!! Those squares are 3 1/2 by 3 1/2.

I had to include that bunny on here, he is just so cute! He looks just like a chocolate Easter bunny.

Love this flower cut, I am going to make a card with this cut soon.

Easter basket... which is my favorite cut on the cartridges.  I love how it reminds me of my Mom's glass candy dishes growing up.  You could cut this with many different holidays in mind.

Thanks for looking. I really love this cartridge.  It is the only one of the limited edition mini's I bought. I think it has just enough different Easter cuts to make it worth the price. I personally love the muted colors from SEI's paper for this layout.  It could totally have been done in bright colors for a different less elegant feel as well.

Thanks for Stopping by!

Wild Card #18 Thanks!

Today is #18 in the series (and book) it is the Thanks card or Mucho Gracias card. I had a vision for this card from the moment I saw it. I wanted a lil man taking a siesta (nap). Well that was harder to execute than I thought it would be so I mad a lil man for the card I hand made his poncho with various markers and some thread. I love him!!

Thanks # 18

CandyLand Cheats Layout

I think I've lost my mojo! :gasp: I've had some trouble lately getting creative... I did manage one layout today and I do love it!

This layout is of a time my niece came to visit. She lives in GA and we are in NJ so we don't see each other that often. The kids had a great time playing together. The picture isn't much but the memory is one my kids still talk about. 3 kids Austin (oldest), Xan (middle), Emily (youngest & my niece) were playing Candyland. The two little ones hated losing and has sore attitudes ~ so Austin took advantage and started cheating... stacking the deck so Emily got all the good cards and Xander got all the bad cards. The adults just laughed!! LOL!! So I used DCWV Sweet stack for patterned papers, creative memories square punch for the candy land stripe (I had to cut down the squares to make them curve), Alphalicious for the CandyLand, Target $1 section for additional embellishments (chipboard) and the word 'cheats'.

I love the how the title came out. Thanks for looking!!

Wild Card #16 Tweety

Ok this card is cute! There are so many options with it as well. I love that little bird and branch, I bet they'd be cute on a scrapbook page too!

Here is my take on Tweety:

#16 Tweety

I don't remember what paper I used (sorry) but I used a punch to make those little flowers, then I crickled and layered two of them and added a pearl for the center. Pearl for the birds eyes too.

Wild Card #15 ~ All in One card

I cut this at: 4 1/4 so that it would fit a standard gift card.

#15 all in one

I used DCWV patterened paper and Stampin Up for the cardstock. The little tree is from Making Memories Christmas collection. Rubons are from Target $1 section and I won't buy them again... they don't rub on very nice. I did Christmas because I know I will use it.... LOL.

Paisley Bee ~ Spelling Bee Cards

So my youngest made it to The Garden State Association of Christian School's NJ Spelling Bee. He and a girl classmate are representing 2nd grade this year. (In fact they both went last year as well!) So I am traveling with another Mom 2 hours away to see him participate. (Actually you only see your kid if they make it to the final round but being the good mommies that we are we are going anyways!)

I decided to make each of the kids a little card ~ especially because they are missing the Valentine's Day party at school today. Here is the one I did for my son. Don't you love that Paisley Bee? My hubby said to put ABC on the cards and I liked his idea... I used my cuttlebug on this one... And here is the girl version. You can't tell by the picture but it is HOT pink not fushia/purple.

So hope you are all having a grea friday while I am traveling in the car 4 hours!! LOL! Should be fun with all the snow we've gotten the last few days!!

Paisley Valentine's Elephant

The whole reason I wanted this cartridge is that it has such cute animal images. I just love this elephant. He is holding a cute little love letter ~ perfect for Valentine's Day. These two cuties are going to my kid's teachers! I used two premade (blue) cards from the dollar section at Target & the background is from there too.
Here is a close up.

Wild Card #14 The Triangle

So when I first saw this card I wasn't thrilled but after doing it I think it came out perfect! I just couldn't not use yellow for Mr Smiley face... so that is why I picked that color.

The paper is from a pack I bought a long time ago at Target on clearance and I am not sure where I got yellow from. I inked around the smiley face so it would pop and used pop dots as well.

#14 Triangle

I am really loving this Wild Card Series! Hope you enjoy it too!

Family layout - using DCWV Farmer's Market

Here is a layout I made today using DCWV Farmer's Market stack. I got this stack at Micheal's on clearance for $4!! I love these papers and I am so glad I bought it!
title is cut with Storybook font. I used a foam stamp I got years ago for the scroll thing underneath it. The colors match much better in person.
Isn't that mouse cute! All I did to him is add a brad to his little belly! I flocked the chipboard flower red and added glitter to the center.

Used a Martha Stewart punch around the page for the top of the paper. Journaling box was from a pack I bought awhile ago. Prima flowers with a brad in the center (covering a watermelon on the journaling box!! )

Thanks for looking. I love this picture so much! It was taken August 2007, my niece Emily came to visit with her Mom. (They live in GA so we don't get to see them much) My parents came over to see her and spend the afternoon. This pic is of my Dad & Stepmom, Emily, me and my kids! I really miss my niece Emily ~ it has been almost 2 yrs since I've seen her last!
*Edited to add ~ did the practical scrapper's challenge ~ there are 2 brads on this layout!

Wild Card #13 Tied Up

Today is Tuesday and that means another installment of Wild Card! This card is the 'Tied up' card. I had a vision and just couldn't get it to work. I am not unpleased it just isn't what I was going for. I used a scrappy cat stamp (the quality was just not good...) to stamp in the green leaf then I embossed with clear embossing the second layer. For some reason the second layer filled in the whole thing? (like I said not quality!)

#13 -

This is the envelope.

Simple layout of my youngest

This layout was so out of the box for me! I have all of this extremely cute patterened paper that I have no idea how to use. So here is it. I believe this is from Forest Friends. I also used a Making Memories Vintage kit for a few pieces and some random letter stickers. I put stickles in blue (matched owl's eyes) on the bottom of the paper (got cut off) and around the number 5 on the bingo card. Love those bingo cards. I don't know why I didn't think of it but I should have photocopied it so I could use it again. I added pearls on the branches...

a button attached to a crochet flower, ek success punched border

New Carts

I bought 4 new carts last week and they finally came today.

Paisley - did you know there are alot of girly images? I didn't! I just thought it was more cutesy animals because that is all I've seen done with it. O well, I won't be needing any other girly carts with this one & storybook.

Christmas Cheer - got this one because I do so much at Christmas time... there are some really cute cuts on this one.

Easter 2010 - there are only 30 cuts on this cart!! 30!!! I thought it would be more like a solutions cart but nope. Still cute though, and I know I will use it for Easter.

Alphalicious - cool name , nice font!! LOL!! I think it is a staple font like Cuttin Up.

So I should have a layout done by the end of today. I thought it was done last night but then I woke up with a thought and now I have to add something to it!! LOL!

Snow Snow and Snow

We got some snow this weekend! I am not sure what the official count was somewhere between 2 - 3 feet of snow. Yes I said FEET!!

I didn't leave the house today. I haven't found a pair of snow boots yet this year and so I wasn't going out in it. The kids and my husband did though. This is a pic of my car (& youngest walking out) This is the view from my front door (well actually it is my back door that sits on the side of our lot because my goofy house sits sideways on our lot) LOL!

That is my fence you can see the snow is almost to the top. So you would think I'd have spent the whole day doing something crafty? Nope! I laid in bed and finished a book and watched tv shows on my dvr. LOL! I honestly didn't have a crafty-bone in my whole body. I guess it is alright because on Monday my new cricut carts are supposed to be delivered and I will want to play with them. The kids will probably be home from school too so I won't have to go anywhere!!
So that is my update. I don't know if I will get any crafting done til Monday ~ but no worries there will be a Wild Card series card bright & early on Tuesday morning!
Hope you are all safe & warm!!

Quick Valentines / Get Well Card

My Aunt had heart surgery about two weeks ago and I am finally getting around to go see her in rehab ( I am pretty sure she goes home tomorrow) so I came up with a quick card. Sorry the pic is goofy my camera is acting up again.

I used Doodlecharms for the heart, Peachy keen face stamps for the little sad face (I've seen a few people using the stamps lately on things other than paper dolls so that is not my original idea but I love it so I used it for this project.) Valentine paper is from Target's dollar section. Don't you just love the band-aid on the heart!! I do!!

Wild Card #12 ~ The Leaf

This is the Leaf card in the Wild Card series. I love everything about this card. Fall is my favorite time of year so I have so many papers in those colors! I used gold ink to ink up the leaves which are from a creative memories punch.
Stickles add detail to the leaf.
