Grow Garden Grow!

It has been a few weeks since starting the garden.  Everything has bloomed that was seeds.  My spinach and lettuce are a little small and not sure if they will make it.  Something is attacking my Garden Beans as well.  Here are the updated pictures.

bottom left: watermelon, (clockwise) honeydew, pickling cucumbers, reg cucumbers , garden beans, lettuce, middle spinach.  (marigolds planted throughout) and there is a rosemary plant in the middle too!

Garden beans ~ something got em. :(

tomato, basil, tomato (back plant had a rotted from the bottom tomato ~ not having much hope for producing on that one)

bottom left: green pepper, space, jalepeno, (behind is another green pepper you can see), red pepper, red pepper, green squash, green squash, radishes.  Middle cilantro.
I have no idea when to pick the radishes!! LOL!! I am gonna wait a little while longer and see if they get bigger yet.

jalepeno pepper with black spots on stem?
I'm really hoping to have some success!! I did eat some of the cherry tomatoes with a piece of basil the other day!  That was super YUMMY!  I've spent a bit of time and $$ here so it would be nice to enjoy some fruits.  My watermelon plant looks amazing as does the squash so I think those will be my best overall.

Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham and Other Stories Deluxe Edition available June 26!

My kids love Dr. Seuss and were super excited to watch Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham and Other Stories Deluxe Edition on Blu-ray!  My oldest told me it was neat to see the stories come to life.  He particularly loved The Sneetches, he couldn't stop talking about them!

There’s never a dull moment when the delightfully mischievous Cat in the Hat drops in for a visit. Get set for laughs and good times with one of Dr. Seuss’s most beloved characters when Warner Home Video (WHV) brings the original animated TV special Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat to DVD & Blu-ray™ on August 7, 2012 in a fully re-mastered deluxe edition set. While their mother is out on a shopping errand, Dick and Sally are stuck indoors on a dull, rainy day, with nothing to do. Their dreary afternoon, however takes an unexpected turn when they’re paid a visit by a charismatic, six-foot tall, hat-wearing cat, who invites himself in to search for his misplaced “moss-covered, three-handled family gredunza.”

Employing the “Calculatus Eliminatus” method, the children help the Cat in the Hat look for his missing keepsake but in the process, leave the house in a mess. Mr. Krinkelbein, the family’s wise pet goldfish, who in effort to look out for the kids’ best interest, protests the Cat in the Hat’s shenanigans and orders him to leave. The Cat in the Hat however, preoccupied with finding his missing “gredunza,” enlists the help of his best friends, Thing One and Thing Two, to help with the search but the pair only manage to bring the house into further disarray.

Unfazed by the chaos that’s slowly unfolding around them, Dick and Sally are captivated by the Cat in the Hat and his madcap, whimsical ways. They pass the afternoon in sheer delight, singing happy songs and engaging playful mayhem with their uninvited guest. Even the cynical Mr. Krinkelbein is won over by the Cat’s infectious charm. Everyone is having way too much fun to notice the house is a complete mess! That’s until Dick and Sally hear their mother coming home. How in the world will they clean up the enormous mess before she walks through the front door?

The deluxe edition of Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat includes two additional Dr. Seuss classics Daisy-Head Mayzie and The Hoober-Bloob Highway.

Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat is one of Dr. Seuss’s best-known literary works and we’re delighted to bring this timeless classic to consumers in a beautiful, newly remastered edition,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Vice President Family & Animation Marketing and Partner Brands. She added, “Both kids and adults will be captivated by its whimsical story line, clever dialogue, memorable songs and eye-catching animation. Consumers won’t want to miss out on owning this gorgeous new edition of this dearly loved, family film.”

Other Dr. Seuss titles available on Blu-ray from WHV include Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax Deluxe Edition, Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham and Other Stories, Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, and Horton Hears A Who!. Dr. Seuss’s Holidays on the Loose! is available on standard DVD.

How does her garden grow....

I decided this year to attempt a vegetable garden.  I've done containers with no luck (stupid bunnies would eat all my plants!)  I'm hoping for some success this year.  My dh bought (and assembled) two 4x4 boxes (bought at Home Depot for $29.99 each).  We put some of that carpet/fabric stuff on the bottom to keep the weeds out and filled with 8 bags of Miracle Gro soil from Lowe's.

Both boxes

Right Box

center with potted plants

left box

front view
In the Left box I planted: red peppers, green bell peppers, skinny cubelno peppers jalapeno, cilantro, squash ~ all from plants.  In the Front from seeds is radishes.  I also have marigolds planted around the boxes to ward off bunnies...

In the Right box:  Long cucumbers (plant and some seed), pickling cucumbers (plants & seed), rosemary, honeydew and watermelon.  From seed: lettuce, spinach and garden beans.

Center Pots:  Back is big tomatoes, middle is basil, and front is cherry tomatoes.

I planted this on June 3 and already my seeds are sprouting.  I have radishes, lettuce, spinach and cucumbers.  No beans yet.  If I don't see those by next Monday I'll replant and try again.

I am by no means a gardener and I hate bugs and all that so this is really an experiment this year for sure!  I'll post new pics sometime next week so you can see the progress!

Dr Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles Review

Sometimes being a woman is hard!  Guys don't have to put the effort into getting all dressed up like we do.  We have to do our hair (mine takes a good 20 mins to look half way decent).  Apply makeup.  Stuff ourselves into so spanx....  then put on a nice dress and some high heels.  I gave up on super high heels years ago and have found that about an inch is tolerable.  Note I said tolerable.  Not comfortable.  Until now.  I tried Dr Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles and they do really help.

This product is a little insole that has a sticky back to put into your shoes.  It is gel-ish so it feels nice up against your foot and has some give when you walk.  It is designed to shift the pressure off the balls of your feet which it does well.
