Our Blessing Bowl!

Do your children ever pick at each other? Do they find every fault possible? How about tattle tailing about the smallest things? Well if you answered yes to any of these questions I have an idea that just might help!

For the last few months I had noticed that my children would do exactly these things! I would find myself correcting them over and over. So much that I hated hearing myself talk!  If your a mom you know exactly what I mean.

So I prayed about it and thought about what I could do differently to stop the nonsense in my house.  God answered!! I came up with the idea of Our Blessing Bowl! The funny twist to this story is that I had come up with the idea but was taking my sweet time to implement it. Here's the twist..... One morning at the beginning of our school day I walked into the classroom and found my kids creating it!  They had each written their names on a small piece of paper, folded them, and put them in the bowl.  They were eager to begin this new activity!

Every morning we each pick a name from the Blessing Bowl and throughout the day it is our job to find a way to be a blessing to whoever we picked.  I don't let the kids tell who they have as I love the idea of the other one not expecting the blessing. ;)

This has been a huge blessing to this mama as I watch my 14, 12, 9, 7, and 4 year old find ways throughout the day to bless each other! Do they still have moments? Sure! But there's some sweetness thrown in there too!

As you will see in my picture our bowl isn't fancy as I still haven't taken the time to make it cute but it still serves it's purpose. You can make yours as cute as you want, as a matter of fact your little cuties might just enjoy doing it for you! ;)

I'll be praying that many blessings abound in your home as you move forward with guiding your little ones to The Lord!
