Testimony #abcblogging

Testimony as in my testimony has been on my mind.  This past Saturday I went to my Uncle Jim's memorial service.  He had passed in June but the funeral was in Florida - this one was in NJ where he was from.

So many people people were touched by my Uncle.  He gave all that he could to help people.  As a police officer he would buy meals and even sometimes give them a place to sleep.  He didn't do this because he was a super good person.  He did this because he knew Jesus and wanted to share that love with others. His testimony during his life helped so many men become more.  As each man stood up and told their story and who they were today from my Uncle's example - I was truly touched!

I felt so convicted sitting in that church.  I thought - am I doing enough in my community?  Am I raising my kids to love others.  Do I teach them not to judge the appearances of a drunk or drug addict?  I know one thing for sure I want to be more like my Uncle.
What an amazing legacy he left behind in his community!

This is the verse read at his funeral - and it told my Uncle's heart:

Matthew 25:35-40 (KJV)

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
