I've been waiting to share my story with all of you until I had some answers to share. First let me tell you a bit of my history. I have 3 children - all boys. I had my first two in 2000 and 2002. We were advised to wait awhile before trying for another because of having two c-sections and two very complicated pregnancies.
In 2008 we were delighted to find out we were expecting! Unfortentely, that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Then in 2009, the same thing only that time it was a blighted ovum and I had a huge dermoid on my left ovary which my doctor removed.
In 2010, we found ourselves pregnant with out youngest son! We were thrilled! Finally after trying for a long time we had our precious last child! After much discussion with our doctor we elected to tie the remaining ovary's tube. (Mostly because of pregnancy complications and to prevent further miscarriages.) I remember asking the doctor on the operating table, "This is permanent right?" His response was, "Nothing is 100%". How true those words were! In 2013 my tubal failed the first time. Unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. However we were faced with some news... we were able to get pregnant again!
So here I am at the end of April and I'm actually 11 weeks along with a healthy pregnancy! Seems God wasn't done with our family size and honestly we are thrilled! We dreamed of another and I even prayed that we would be blessed with just one more.
After losing the last miracle I prayed this verse to the Lord:
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. - Proverbs 13:12
God heard my cry and answered my prayer! I am so thankful that God still hears and answers prayers! This pregnancy hasn't been easy, in fact it has even been a bit scary at times. We've been to the Maternal Fetal Medicine place 3 times now and we are only 11 weeks along. However I know it is all in God's hands!
Why Share Our Story?
When I found myself expecting and having a tubal... I searched the internet for others like me. I found a few forums or answer type things but nothing sharing the details. I wanted to share so that perhaps I could be a blessing to others.
We don't know exactly. My doctor looked at the pathology report after he found out we were expecting and said that indeed the did cut and burn the tube. When I have my c-section I suspect my doctor will want to see how this all happened. I think it was an act of God. Maybe we will never find out...
If you are pregnant and have a tubal it is important to contact your doctor immediately. Most of the time these pregnancies do not end up in the womb as ours did. You will have to be monitiored to be know where the pregnancy is. That is one of the reasons I've had so many blood test and ultrasounds this pregnancy so far.
