Real Life Homeschool Blog Hop

Some days are rough when it comes to homeschooling.  This week was like that.  While we accomplished some things ... mom just didn't feel well at all.  I struggled with morning sickness 24/7 so we pared down the day.  Math, reading, science, grammar and bible.  That meant that art, history, and literature were sparse!  I wish I could tell you I get it all in every day but weeks like this show the truth!

Thankfully - most of the boys curriculum is pretty independent this year.  Next year history will be too since I will have a 5 year old and a newborn to entertain while the big kids do work.

So what did the boys do in the mean time?  Grandmom came Wednesday morning to babysit while I went to the OB/GYN - so they socialized!  They learned to play Chinese checkers and a few other new games.  They helped straighten the house, cook and played with their little brothers.  They had some down time, which I think they needed too!  My 12 year old took a nap several times this week and he grew an inch!  (Growth spurt!)

It was a hiccup week.  One I didn't plan for (we weren't taking a spring break but it seems we got one!)  We also know next week needs to pick up the slack!  And that is the beauty of homeschooling.  The flexibility when life happens!!
