Book Review: Sarah and Her Twirling Toes #WIN

Sarah and Her Twirling Toes by Dawn Marie Hooks is a sweet story about a little girl who loves to scream. She loves the way it feels from her throat down to her toes. Something happens when she screams too much, she loses her voice! Suddenly screaming doesn't feel so good. Sarah goes to the doctor and she is told not to speak for three days! I can't imagine the agony for a child to have to remain silent! After three days Sarah gets her voice back but instead of screaming she decides to take it easy and SINGS!

I loved this little story. I can totally relate to Sarah as I lose my voice (from over talking) at least once a year. At those times I miss being able to sing. Sarah's tricks for coping with her illness are adorable. I also like that Sarah feels free to scream and her family and friends never are bothered by it. I bet they will love her singing too!

About the book

Sarah loves how screaming makes her feel. Her tonsils tickle. Her tummy dances. Best of all, her toes twirl! But one day, Sarah’s scream disappears …
This bright picture book celebrates Sarah's spunky and endearing personality while showing that she can still be herself, with or without screaming.
