Masterbook Curriculum Review: Survey of Science History & Concepts #HIGHSCHOOL

High School Science can be difficult to choose for your child. I have one child that really needs to dig deep when it comes to any subject. He loves to read - especially when it comes to facts with science and history. I was really excited to add Survey of Science History & Concepts to his reading this year.  This is a complete year of science and recommended for 10-12 grades. We are using it as a beginner high school science before jumping into more difficult individual studies for biology, physics and chemistry.

The Parent Lesson Planner (PLP) gives you the worksheets and test to round out this curriculum and make it weighted year of study. The four books are broken up into two semesters - doing math and physics then biology and chemistry. Each lesson is fairly short and easy to complete the daily task. Each of the books has pictures and diagrams making the learning a visual delight and something you look forward to reading. While it is truly a survey I believe it a great jumping ground into harder studies - especially for kids coming from general or physical studies in middle school. There are a lot of history and facts in this curriculum and it is perfect for a detailed learner who wants some meat but doesn't want to feel overwhelmed.
