One thing I see posted about on facebook more than anything is suggestions for chapter books. Once kids outgrow picture books parents are looking for wholesome, yet interesting reads. It kind of hits two phases. First is to be read aloud by Mom and Dad then later to be read independently by the child when they've advanced to that skill. I have found that it is best to keep these kind of books on hand because once you enter either phase it just blossoms. Kids want a real story and they are looking for books that truly interest them.
I was honestly so excited to receive two of the new Animal Planet Adventures chapter books. These books follow a simple format of ten chapters each. They feature different families so you can read them out of order. They are animal adventures and have a bit of a mystery to solve. J-man loves this kind of story because he likes to guess at what is going on. We have enjoyed adding both of these books to our homeschool read aloud time. One chapter is perfect for him to sit through and I plan on getting more in the series.
#1 Dolphin Rescue
Siblings Maddie and Atticus love living by the sea. Their dad traps lobsters off the coast of Maine. They love helping with the family business and volunteering at the local aquarium. The summer is shaping up to be a super one, for sure. Then one day they spy a pod of dolphins in the cove looking distressed. How will the kids use their knowledge of animals and their awesome problem-solving skills to help the dolphin family get safely back to sea?
#2 Farm Friends Escape!
During summer vacations, cousins Luke and Sarah help out at their grandparents' petting zoo. But what happens when the animals get loose overnight? Can Luke and Sarah use their knowledge of animals and their awesome problem-solving skills to get the animals back to safety?
WIN WIN WIN
One lucky reader will win a set of the Animal Planet Adventures Books!
