We all have bad days.  Days when our attitudes are not where they should be.  It isn't just adults either, kids sometimes struggle with this as well.  So how do we encourage a good attitude and a positive outlook?  Whatever Wanda by Christy Ziglar is a book that covers that topic!

About:

Whatever Wanda, is the third title in the Shine Bright Kids series! The Shine Bright Kids series provides children and their families with the tools to teach the importance of making good choices. The series explores such topics as: using good judgment, taking responsibility, having a positive attitude, and demonstrating perseverance.

My Thoughts:

This was a seriously adorable book!  The main character Wanda, isn't excited about the events of the day.  She slowly finds out that her bad attitude makes her the only one not having fun at a festival.  A little change of outlook and she redeems the day and has a good time.

I love this message for children.  Look to the positive!  This book opened up talk for a great topic.  I also loved that Wanda sort of had a negative catch phrase, " Whatever".  We will be using the phrase, ' Whatever Wanda'in the future when someone has a bad attitude.  Basically saying don't be a 'whatever Wanda', will be a reminder to stop being so negative!

You can purchase your copy of Whatever Wanda at your local book retailer or at online stores like Amazon.

  3. I would read this to both of my sons. They enjoy science and I have been wanting to do a butterfly project, so this would be perfect.
