Some Things I learned During Vacation! #disneyvacation

Disney vacations take a lot of planning. Even if you plan out everything there will be some hitches and some times you have to go with the flow. I did a lot of research for our fall trip. I booked our meals and fast passes. I bought ponchos and comfortable shoes. Still things were not perfect the whole trip. Here are some things I learned.

Plan More Down Time

I wish I had planned for more time to relax. Disney is just not a very relaxing vacation. We were up early and to bed late many of the days. One of the best days we had included a late start with lunch at Disney Springs and then walking around. No park at all. Next time I will plan for 2 days at the park then a day off then perhaps another two days and then a day off or a late day entry.

There Will Be Crowds and Lines

No matter how much you plan for crowds and fast passes you will still find yourself waiting. Food lines were pretty long even at the little carts. That can be frustrating when your thirsty and hot just wanting a quick water before moving onto your next location. Bathrooms had lines and even the baby area had a line for the nursing rooms. The worst was Epcot because of Food and Wine Festival. We just decided not to do much there because it was so crowded the day we went.

Your Feet Will Hurt

I bought expensive shoes (Keens) and I rested my feet as much as possible and still they hurt. Not as bad as the last time I went but this is a lot of standing. They felt fine when we were walking but once we stood still it was a bit rough. Changing shoes daily really helped and taking breaks when possible.

Get the Memory Maker

Get the Memory Maker and stop often for pictures. We had over 300 pictures taken with the memory maker. I'm in at least half of them. It was wonderful not to lug my camera the whole trip. I wish we had stopped at more locations because our castle pictures were just okay but the ones at Disney Springs were gorgeous! This is totally worth the money if you are going for more than a few days.
