*Time For Kids* 50 States Our America Review & Free Printable! #WIN #ad

We are full swing into summer at the Rup house. This means we slow down our structured learning and take time to enjoy the lazy days. While we might stop most of our formal learning we never really stop learning. Each of our three older kids is required to do some sort of reading each day. For our 6 year old it is 20 minutes of independent reading and 20 being read to. I was sent Time For Kids 50 States Our America to review. Let me tell you how perfect this book is for our our family.

This book starts out with a little bit of history of the United States then it goes into each individual state alphabetically. It ends with our territories and some information about regions. There is a full map and each state has beautiful color pictures on their page. Each state has an information box that includes facts like their bird population and capital. I could have used this book years ago when my son has this ridiculously huge state notebook project to complete for his 4th grade class. That report took hours to complete and the information was hard to find at the time on the internet. He ended up handing it in 3 days late because it was so hard to do. This book would have helped us get that done on time.

We've been using this book causally through our summer learning by reading about a state or two at a time. We will be studying American History in the fall so I think this is a great addition to introduce Jace to the different locations we will be talking about. Each page is short and sweet which helps keep his attention. I really like the format, I just keep a bookmark to remind me where we left off.
