Okay, maybe that title is a little dramatic but maybe not. See when we first started homeschooling 6 years ago we were given a school pencil sharpener from a teacher relative. The problem is it chewed through my expensive Dixon Ticonderoga pencils. We went through so many that year. We stopped using that beast and went to using cheap individual sharpeners. Guess what they often broke open and spilled all over. They didn't sharpen nicely either. They were so small and lost easily.
So, as you can tell we've had quite an ordeal until we received our ClassroomFriendlySupplies.com sharpener. In fact we've had our original one since 2013!! It is still like new. We keep it on a shelf in the kitchen and it is used practically daily. If anything happened to this gadget I would replace it immediately - it is that good.
How Do You Use It
This sharpener is a little different than others I've used. First you have to squeeze the lever on the front and pull to open the hole. The front kind of comes out as well. Once you've pulled the front out you then squeeze the two black levers again and the front opens so you can slide the pencil in.
Then you turn the crank until the front silver piece goes back to the meet the front of the device. After that happens the pencil is sharpened to perfection! It never over sharpens or under sharpens. There is a plastic catch-all for the shavings that is easy to slide out and empty.
I can't sing the praises of this sharpener enough. We went through so many that first year and since we received this one it has been the one and only.
