Halloween Horror at Sahara Sam's! #hosted

Last weekend we had a blast attending Halloween Horror at Sahara Sam's in Berlin, New Jersey. This event runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings in September and October. The doors open at 5pm and it ends at 10:30pm. We took our four kids ages 2, 7, 16 and 18. This event is included with your day pass and 2019 Season Passes. If you don't plan on swimming tickets are $13.99 for Halloween Horror.

Thank You Sahara Sam's For hosting us!

For our group we arrived around 5:30. We were directed to go outside and once there a DJ was playing music. Thriller by Michael Jackson is a classic and we were glad to hear the DJ play it. The kids went to the pumpkin patch where our Pirate friend helped them pick and decorate pumpkins. This was perfect for my littlest as he doesn't do scary.

We then went over to the food truck to enjoy some holiday offerings. We had Mummy Fingers minus the raspberry drizzle and they were delicious. Adults can head over to the bar for drinks. At 7pm the pumpkin patch closed. It started getting dark and people started lining up for the three main attractions.

I personally don't like scary but the atmosphere was lightly spooky but not so bad that my two year old was upset. He was able to hang out with me while his brothers went off and enjoyed themselves. Without giving too much away the park is decorated and there are flashing lights in certain areas. People in costumes walk around and interact with you as well. I wasn't sure if my seven  year old would be too scared or if he would love it all. Well, I had nothing to fear. He loved it all and had a blast. He was able to do everything.

There are three main attractions. Boom Town which is clowned theme (creepy clowns!!) . Next is Zombie Zone. There are two parts to this section so be sure to do both the 'Decontamination Zone' and the actual Zombie Zone. The third attraction is Midway Mayhem. This one was voted to be the scariest of the three by my group.

The staff at Sahara Sam's was amazing. At every stop we made we were met with friendly helpful people. I think they did a great job with this event. We had a blast on Saturday night. This is a great local event and I'm so happy that Sahara Sam's has created a local holiday themed venue. My tips for you to have a successful night is to arrive closer to 7:30 if you have older kids as they probably won't want to decorate a pumpkin. It is getting cooler at night so plan for a jacket as this is outdoors.

I hope you'll check out this event!
