I love a good holiday movie. It is one of the reasons we have cable television after so long of not having it. I love to sit and watch those sappy Hallmark movies centered around Christmas. Christmas Jars has got to be one of the best I've watched - EVER! This is a story about a girl named Hope and honestly so much happens to her that you know she needs a Christmas miracle after the first five minutes. So please have your tissues handy from the start because you'll be blubbering but don't worry you'll be laughing and smiling soon.
About the film
Based on the beloved novel by Jason F. Wright, CHRISTMAS JARS shares the story of Hope Jensen, a reporter who uncovers the remarkable secret behind a holiday phenomenon: money-filled glass jars anonymously given to people in need. The New York Times bestseller has created a new holiday tradition that has changed the lives of people in their time of need, all over the country. CHRISTMAS JARS is a one-night movie event that provides hope to all as we enter this special season. In theaters Monday, November 4 only, CHRISTMAS JARS is a heartfelt reminder that kindness truly is contagious.

I love the theme of this movie. It is friendship, love but most of all giving. I really feel that is what Christmas is all about. For many years we were able to do a special monetary gift to someone we knew was struggling. While we didn't have a fancy jar, we just gave a card it did our hearts so good to know that we were able to give. We called it our Jesus gift. A few years ago my husband was laid off and honestly we had no extra money. It was tight, so tight that we had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner that year. As my husband and I talked about the holiday season one of the hardest parts for us is that we wouldn't be able to bless someone else that year like we had in the past. Of course God blessed us abundantly that year.
I love the idea of a special jar that we all contribute to and have the opportunity to share with someone in need. Not only is this a fantastic movie but it has a wonderful and practical way to live out LOVE by blessing others. I hope we won't be the only family that takes that message to heart this holiday season and looks for an opportunity to do something for a family in need. How much brighter the world is when we Love with action!
