Easy Crock-Pot Pinto Beans #abcblogging #recipes

I love using my crock-pot to cook.  It is so easy and most things come out so tender and juicy.  It is also a big time saver with the fix/forget aspect!

First things first is you will need a bag of dry pinto beans.  Then you have to soak the.  I used my crockpot and let them sit in it overnight.  (The bag of beans says you have sort and look for stones, I do this but I have yet to find a single stone ever.)

After you soak overnight give a really good rinse.

Then I put them in a pot on the stove and brought to a boil.

Another rinse then dump back into a clean dry crockpot.

Now onto the Ham-hock.  I found this in my grocery near the ham steaks and ham.  You might have to ask at your local store.  As you can see it was very cheap but it packs so much flavor so don't skimp on this part!

Put the Ham-hock in the middle of the beans and cover with water.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

Remove the ham-hock and toss in the trash...
Use the beans for tacos or on top of rice .... I didn't keep the broth the beans are sitting in but next time I will and make bean soup by adding some additional ingredients.

Ingredients:
Bag of Dry Pinto Beans
Hamhock
