The Typewriter #bookReview

I have a unique book to share with you today. The Typewriter by Bill Thomson follows a different format as it is mostly pictures with a few 'typed' words. This allows the reader to form their own story in their mind with the amazing pictures! The tale takes us to a day at the shore with a group of kids and a typewriter. Once words are typed things start happening. One page features a giant ice cream sundae in a bucket and my little guy thought that was just the coolest.  This book is all about imagination and having fun! As a parent I had to laugh because my 5 year old really didn't know what a typewriter was. I thought that was neat to share a book that shows how words were written long ago - before blogging days. This cute tale is sure to catch your child's eyes as it has mine.

(Two Lions/Amazon -ages 3-7)

Using just nine words, the award-winning creator of Chalk takes readers on another unforgettable journey. When three children discover a typewriter on a carousel, they are transported on an adventure of their own creation—complete with a giant beach ball and a threatening crab. Stunning, richly colored artwork is paired with limited text so children can tell their own version of the story.
